AARG Launch September 2, 2002 |
This was the annual AARG Anniversary launch, marking the 5th Labor Day launch since AARG was founded in 1998. The range opened at 9 AM and ran until late in the day. The weather was, as usual, very calm and very hot. Turnout for the launch and the number of flights was larger than any prior local launch. There were 79 flights from the high power pads and countless dozens from the model rocket pads.
Jim Parker set a new field record of 11,621 feet with an AAMRAM on a K250. See the photo below.
The flight line at AARG's Labor Day launch was one of the largest ever for a local launch.
