HobbyTown Build 'n Blast | |||
On April 12, 2003 HobbyTown stores across the country sponsored a "Build 'n Blast" event where anyone could come in and build an E2X generic rocket. In many locations, arrangements were made with local rocket clubs to provide launching facilities.
In Austin, AARG provided launch space for the south store at Tony Burger Center and for the north location at Walnut Creek Park. Steve Rogers flew at the south location, and Karen and Shawn McCoy flew at the north location. There was a nice turnout with about 20 fliers of all ages. One person even brought a collect of rockets from the attic that were late 80's to early 90's vintage.
