Brookhollow Science Fair

On November 19, 2007 the Austin Area Rocketry Group participated in the Brookhollow Elementary School Science Night, Pflugerville, Texas. Representing the club were: Rick VanVoorhis, James Duffy, Jim Jarvis and Mark Willett.

Mr. VanVoorhis displayed his impressive fleet of high power rockets, Mr. Jarvis his outsatnding High Carb Yen carbon fiber record-setting N-motor project, Mr Duffy his world competition Honest John, and Mr. Willett his bits and pieces of ongoing construction projects and his low/mid power Orion sustainer for something for the kids to get their hands on... you need that you know.

The club set up an impressive multi-media display of an LDRS launch in which AARG members participated, a composed Space exploration DVD, Mr. Duffy's video representation of his competition experience overseas, and a reknown space exsploration video/movie. Also in the display were photos of each of Mr. VanVoorhis' rockets in flight with the flight data from flight recorders on display alongside the photographs. Electronics and construction techniques were also displayed. For the coupe d'grais, Mr. Vanvoorhis provided a static burn test of a "J" motor that indeed WOWED the audience, kids and adults alike.
