| 4H Aerospace Camp | ||
The Travis County 4H Capital Blast off Aerospace Camp has been an AARG outreach project since 1998. The camp is a week long event that takes approximately 90 kids through a variety of technology related activities, such as building solar powered boats and cars, flying model rockets and water rockets, studying astronomy, and learning how GPS systems work and how to use them. The campers are predominately 9-12 years of age.
In 2006, The Austin Radio Control Association provided demonstration aircraft flights for the campers at their Lester Field facility near Decker Lake. We flew a number of demonstration launches for the campers there also.
