AARG Meeting

January 18, 2007

We had a good meeting. Turnout was lower than I had wanted but with the weather this week, understandable. Before I get into the minutes I would like to give a personal thank you to the outgoing officers. Without you guys AARG would not be where it is. Good people is what makes rocketry the fun hobby that I enjoy. Secondly a big thank you to the new round of officers for this year. It was time for some new blood into the club and this year we have a great set of people running the show!

Contest Launch in April

Would like to have one especially Egg related - traditionally AARG has Huevos Launcheros and the launch would be around Easter. The only problem is our normal launch weekend is also Easter Sunday weekend and a contest launch is normally 2 days. David Bellhorn is going to investigate options around this:

  1. move the launch by 1 weekend (early or late)
  2. 1 day launch instead of 2 day
  3. other....

This would also be a sport launch with an egg/Easter theme and there would be non-official competition's as well. Please stay tuned for more details.

VP Report

Stu wanted to thank the group for the increased help at the launches lately. I would like to second this. It takes some work to make club launches happen but it's not that much if you spread it out over several people. Thanks!!!!

Treasurer Report

Lou said how much was in the bank but I didn't write it down.

That was pretty much it for the meeting. We of course talked about many other issues rocketry related but not AARG business related.

It has been a great 3 years serving as your President. I'm not going anywhere but I think it was time to get some new people running the show. It may take a week or so to get all the email/web pointers fixed up for the new officers but that will happen shortly.
