AARG Meeting
April 22, 2004
17 Members present
- Alex - discussion on hybrid GSE. Doug Pratt made us a very good offer on another system. Tim Sapp is providing nitrous for NSL but it would be nice to have 3 pads (one for each type of hybrid).
- Motion was denied.
- NSL Waiver was given as 800' with callins to 12500'. M's limited to 10000' (Note this has since changed to everything is 12500').
- Discussion on way to encourage e-newsletter. Next newsletter we will announce that we are switching the default to email. Anyone who wants to still get a printed newsletter needs to inform AARG. Members will be responsible for making sure we have a valid email address on file.
- Discussion on how to encourage more help at launches.
- Shorter launches - decided this was not a good idea for multiple reasons. Also we are not requiring nor asking for anyone to help in the morning and the afternoon.
- Signup when paying your launch fee. This will be available and encouraged but not manditory.
- Launches will be cancelled if trailer duties and setup/teardown duties are not filled by Friday (early afternoon).
- Waive the launch fee if you help.
- There will be at least 2 memorial launches at NSL.
- Jim Turner
- Beth Sapp
- Rick may also fly a third for Tom Lanier but this is not 100%
- President requested someone to build the free Squirrelworks NSL kit that they sent to us. Stu Barrett volunteered.
- James Duffy NSL presentation. Included the following items:
- picture of the range layout.
- Scout consessions will be on Saturday and Sunday only.
- Each individual will be needed to fill all the postitions of range duty. We will get help from other people but this is AARG's responsiblity.
- Robert Harvey volunteered to be in charge of the PA system and a FM transmitter for NSL.
- We have enough pads within the club and a few personal pads to cover all the HPR pads. The model rocket pads are being graciously provided by NHRA.
- Flight cards will be entries into the raffle. You will also be able to purchase raffle tickets. The price was not set. There will be two raffles one for model related stuff and one for HPR related stuff. Purchased entries will also be on flight cards. We will need 4 boxes for cards - 1 each at the LCO area, and 2 at registration where people can buy cards. To keep things honest these will be the only locations for raffle entries and all entries will be deposited by LCO's or registration personel.
- Prefect Report - Very good news to be released over the weekend reguarding the ATF lawsuit. AARG/NAR/Tripoli do not enforce ATF regulations at any launch including NSL. All motor transactions are the responsibility of the seller/buyer. We are responsible for verifing certification levels.
Meeting Adjourned.
