AARG Officers Meeting

September 15, 2002

The officers voted to buy the trailer out of general and trailer funds as previously discussed. The total price was $2,425 and $200 for taxes. Inquiries were made to NAR and Tripoli about using their tax-exempt status, but both organizations were unresponsive.

The purchase pretty much cleans out the bank account. Thank you to the persons paying their dues in advance and those contributing and donating to this special fund. The AARG bank account is paired to Lou Catozzi's personal bank account, so AARG will not suffer any low-balance charges. Anyone who is flying with us but is not current on dues, please pay your dues. We need them.

Liability insurance for the trailer comes from the liability insurance for the car pulling it. Theft insurance is $50 every six months and only covers the trailer, not the contents. The trailer will be within Rick Van Voorhis' yard when not in use and locked to someone's trailer hitch when in use, so no theft insurance will be purchased.

The club has lots of rails of both sizes and many lengths and lots of rods of many diameters and lengths. New storage tubes for the rods need to be made because the ends have broken off the ones the club has. There is an extra 6', 1x2 rail available for the smaller rockets if the people flying these rockets want it. It does not have a pad.

Hutto will be the site of the next launch. It is not close to a town or convenience store. Portacans cost $100 per launch. They will not be rented this time. Mission Control will be there for those that need it.

Hutto will be available until approximately March. It is currently a K field but expanding it to an L field is being investigated. The I field in Granger is being finalized. It can be used when Hutto is unavailable.
